Duchess celebrates Cornwall-Kosovo link
Here’s Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cornwall celebrating with some of our supporters in the UK the extraordinary link between their Cornish village, Port Isaac, and TIP’s work with marginalized children in Kosovo. Pictured here with the Duchess are people who’ve visited and volunteered, people who’ve given shoes or clothes or other necessary things, people who’ve devised and run small projects to help the community, and some of those who’ve given money, including legendary shanty-singing group The Fisherman’s Friends. Special day; special relationship.
Different ways to make a difference
We had another enjoyable supporters day in May 2016, bringing together many of our UK donors and volunteers and, live from Kosovo, some of our team. They had an auction of fun stuff to raise money, and heard from diverse volunteers and visitors to Kosovo about the different ways they had made a difference. See more here!
Duchess of Cornwall visits The Ideas Partnership
Her Royal Highness Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall visited our centre in Fushë Kosova, to see our work and meet our volunteers and partners. She gave a set of books to the children, and was given a selection of products made by women in our micro-finance projects and a picture made by the children showing the flags of Kosovo, the UK and Cornwall…
and the message that: sometimes it takes more than one village to raise a child. Lots of smiles.
UK supporters learn more…
Here’s Elizabeth Gowing talking to supporters in the UK about how TIP works and what we’ve been doing…
