What are some of the things we get up to? Our big news – everyone’s big news – is the opening of our NEW ACTIVITY CENTRE. After a decade in improvised cold concrete spaces with inappropriate access, the children we work with – and the young mothers and those with special needs, and anyone from the local community who needs somewhere to come together and speak and develop – have a bright, clean, modern, easy-access space designed according to green principles and built by, with and for local people. We’re still raising money to finish making all of the classrooms operational…
This just in – Policy Brief: Access of women from the Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities to health services. We’ve produced this research as part of the ‘Empowering Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian women and young people for health advocacy and education’ project, supported by the Kosovo Women’s Network and financed by the office of the European Union in Kosovo. We’re proud to be working together with these partners in activities of such significance.
This was Neighbourhood 29 ten years on, remembering one of our first projects and looking at how the community, and the individual children who showed us their world, have developed. Here’s our report on the causes of early marriage among the Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities (also available in Albanian) – developing an earlier report on the early marriage phenomenon. And this was when the Duchess of Cornwall visited our centre in Fushë Kosova. Oh, and from our tenth birthday a little while back here are the ten stories ten TIP friends told over ten months: our TIP Ten Out of Ten.
If you’ve got a great idea, we could be great partners for you. If you’re interested in volunteering with us, we’d love to meet you and welcome you into a growing community of good people doing good things while wearing a TIP sticker. If you’re considering offering funds to The Ideas Partnership and would like to learn a little more about us, please have a look at the site and do get in touch.
